If you want to use PicPic Social at an event, you’ll want to have this watermark removed. To do so, you need to select a plan from your account page.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”What should I know before my first event?” el_id=”1490842340492-79f76ddb-627d”]

  1. Never rely on venue/client wifi
  2. Always bring your own 5ghz hotspot and turn 5ghz mode ON
  3. Your firewalls need to be disabled otherwise you will have connection issues
  4. You need to choose a plan before your event to remove watermarks
  5. If your internet is really slow on-site, only email & text will work

Yes, PicPic Social can work without internet, but you will still need a wi-fi connection. You can have a wi-fi connection that does not have internet access. Think about it in terms of your home internet. Even if you don’t pay your bill, you can connect to the wi-fi network, but you cannot access the internet.

Another way to think of it is, wi-fi allows you to connect devices that are within your reach, but internet allows you to connect to devices from around the world.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”What files do you support?” el_id=”1488989017894-a74a7772-9224″]We support the following photo types:

  • PC Computer – Windows 7 or newer, 2GB RAM, 4GB HDD, 5ghz capable
  • Internet hotspot – 5ghz hotspot (you must turn 5ghz on when you get it), 300 MB per event
  • Sharing station -, iPad 3 or newer or Samsung Galaxy Tab or Windows PC running Windows 7 or newer, 2GB Ram, 4GB HDD , 5GHZ capable

The PC is where your event files will be saved to. Once the file it saved, it will be transferred to via your internet hotspot to the sharing station. The sharing station is where guests can find their files and then share.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”What are your internet requirements?” el_id=”1490842567816-abdbbd86-9022″]Glad you asked:

[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”What if my internet speeds are slow or if I lose internet at the event?” el_id=”1488987261920-de08094d-82d9″]PicPic Social has a “queue” system. If your internet speeds are really slow, or if you lose internet during the event, PicPic Social will store all of the e-mails and text that need to be sent out. This queue will remain even if you shut off the computer or restart it. To process the queue, run the Device Server after the event and everything will process normally.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Which cellular provider should I get a hotspot from?” el_id=”1488988663488-c09731da-a4d7″]If you have the choice, you should choose Verizon or ATT. Both of these companies offer 5ghz hotspots and have very good coverage in the US. If you are outside of the US, choose the best carrier for you area that offers 5ghz hotspots.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Can I use my cellphone as a hotspot?” el_id=”1490840969625-ecb4c267-188b”]You can, but its not recommended. What if you need to leave the event? Your attendant wouldn’t be able to run social media. Also, some cellular companies don’t let you use data and use the phone at he same time, so if you get a call, your internet service will be interrupted.

However, the #1 reason you should not use your cellphone as a hotspot is because it is 2.4 ghz and not 5ghz. We suggest you ALWAYS use a 5ghz hotspot and turn 5ghz mode on (its off by default).[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Can I use my iPad as a hotspot & sharing station?” el_id=”1490842435914-adbdf483-1b10″]No. There is a hardware limitation that wont let you use the sharing station as a hotspot and a sharing station. You will need an independent 5ghz hotspot.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”How much data should I buy?” el_id=”1488988740228-1bc66806-ddf8″]You can expect to use 500MB-1000MB of data per event. If you do 4 events per month, you should get at least 4 GB per month plan.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”What hotspot do you recommend?” el_id=”1488988159691-3e627e89-8576″]We suggest ALL of our user bring their own 5ghz hotspot to every event. The following recommendations are for US based customers. If you are international, please consult your local cellular provider and tell them you need a 5ghz hotspot.

Note: When you purchase a 5ghz hotspot, it comes with dual band mode enabled. You HAVE to manually turn 5ghz mode on. See your manual for instructions.

  • Verizon – 6620L
  • ATT – Velocity or Unite Pro
  • T-Mobile – They do not have any we can recommend at this time
  • Sprint – We do not recommend Sprint hotspots because they have a firewall that cannot be disabled.

For example, if your event is March 4th, 2019, your can use the event without watermarks starting March 4th, 2019 at 12am until March 5th, 2019 at 8am. After 8 am on March 5th, the event will no longer be visible in the device server.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”When do my events reset?” el_id=”1490842007879-9c2cff37-aa55″]Your events reset on the 1st of the month.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”My event is more than 1 day, do I need an event for each day?” el_id=”1490841744329-285f7639-6a9f”]

Yes and no. If your event is more than 1 day, you will need to create an event for each day unless you are on the Agency plan. If you are on the Agency plan, you can use one event for multiple days, just set the event date to the last date of the event. Ultimately it is better to create an event for each day if you want better analytics.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Can I use the same event for multiple booths/workstations?” el_id=”1490842195221-92370e9c-f549″]Yes, but its not recommended. Heres why:

  • If both computers are saving images with the same file name, they will overwrite each other and create issues
  • Your data capture & analytics will not report properly

If none of that matters, feel free to use the same event multiple times in a day.
